Mash India – a digital platform founded by the collector and philanthropist Shalini Passi

MASH INDIA is an online platform created by the philanthropist, collector Shalini Passi exploring the interplay between craft, art, architecture fashion, design, and fashion in a user-friendly and entertaining format.

In keeping with the goal of the Shalini Passi Art Foundation that is to assist emerging artists MASH organizes a monthly feature featuring selected artists’ works and also promotes new, experimental artists through its social media channels. In addition, MASH’s Facebook, as well as Instagram, pages regularly update users on exhibitions in progress, significant sales, and important global cultural events.

 

ABOUT SHALINI PASSI

Shalini Passi is an art collector from Delhi. She is an artist, philanthropist, and artist. She has been on the advisory Board of Khoj Studios since 2012 and is a long-standing patron of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale. Her collection contains some of the most sought-after names in contemporary art, such as Bharti Kher Anita Dube, Sheba Chhachhi Zarina Hashmi, and Atul Dodiya. They are also surrounded by notable international artists like Jeff Koons and Damian Hirst and Indian modernist masters like M.F. Husain, Manjit Bawa, and Ram Kumar. Shalini’s love of design and art can be seen in her extensive collection of tapestries, furniture, and antiques that are set against cutting-edge modern design, with notable pieces from Ron Arad, Vladimir Kagan as well as Herve Van der Straeten. The collection is located in Shalini’s Delhi residence and highlighted in prestigious magazines like Wallpaper*, Architectural Digest along with Larry’s List, the collection is a testament to a personal narrative that reveals Shalini’s relationship with every piece, each historical period and artist. As a collector and patron, Shalini actively supports emerging artists and promotes education in the arts through the Foundation’s programming throughout the year. She regularly gets invited to speak at major design and art events as well as recently giving an appearance at the India Art Fair 2019 and chaired a panel discussion for India Design ID 2019.
